I Said Yes

Saying YES to Jesus is the greatest yes you will ever say in your life.

Yes, to confessing Him the Lord of your life. Yes, to him being your savior. Yes, to believing that he died on a cross for your sin, was risen to life on the third day and is now seated in heaven – and he has given you access into a marvelous friendship with God here in this life & for eternity.

If you recently said yes, we would love to celebrate with you and help you as you take your first steps in getting to know Jesus or you may be simply exploring and wanting to know more about what it means to say yes to Jesus.

    Why say yes?

It’s simple really. Jesus himself says he is the way, the truth & the life and no one can come to the Father except through him (John 14:6).

Since creation, humanity was destined to be with God. Created by his hand and with his very breathe in them, humanity enjoyed communion with God. Enter sin through one couple’s mistake (yep they ate the fruit) & humanity forever came under that curse; and every person born had been born under the curse of sin.

This broke the heart of God. His desire was to be with us. Through the ages God extended his grace and mercy to a people whose hearts were hardened because of sin; in an effort to demonstrate his great love for them. Enter Jesus.  On our own there is nothing we could ever do to win God’s love, favor or a free pass out of this curse and knowing this, Jesus came to be our way. Our way back to God. Our way out of the curse of sin.

Jesus came as the perfect sacrifice – without sin he was born & lived righteous until the day of his crucifixion. At the grave he defeated sin and sickness; and through his resurrection he trumped the power of death and provided us life to full both here in this life & in eternity.

So why say yes? Because there is no other way to access to God; there is no other way to come out of the shame, condemnation & curse of sin; because Jesus offers us life, his righteousness and freedom.

If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is the Son of God and believe with all our heart that he died and rose again to give us eternal life we are saved and we belong to Him!

What the bible teaches us about salvation

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.”

    John 3:16-18

Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved

    Romans 10:9-10

He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy

    Titus 3:5

“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

    Acts 4:12

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

    John 14:6

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God

    Ephesians 2:8
